Since 2019, Faber has led the Ohio Auditor of State’s law enforcement team, where he spearheaded investigations that have resulted in numerous criminal charges against public officials. Those cases have led to 129 convictions on 247 separate criminal charges, ranging from a corrupt county sheriff to a county official who stole roughly $1.8 million.
DISCOVERED $6.9 BILLION IN UNEMPLOYMENT FRAUD
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Faber’s team discovered approximately $6.9 billion in fraud and overpayments within Ohio’s unemployment compensation system.
Faber led the nation in identifying the issue and helping put controls in place to slow the theft of tax dollars. The discovery led to dramatic restructuring of the mechanisms to oversee those payments.
