Governor Strickland introduced $850 million dollar income tax

Support those fighting increased government spending and higher taxes.

Despite regularly promising that he would not raise taxes, Governor Strickland bowed to his liberal constituencies and introduced an $850 million dollar income tax increase to fix the hole caused by his risky lottery slot machine scheme. Not surprisingly, the Democrats in the Ohio House quickly voted to give the Governor his tax increase. I helped lead the opposition to the Strickland tax increase by proposing real solutions to solve the budget hole that did not raise taxes. While we fought the tax increase for more than two months, after withering pressure from interest groups and the editorial pages across Ohio, several term-limited senators joined all the Democrats and passed a budget solution that included Strickland’s tax increase. I voted against the tax increase because raising income taxes will not help achieve what should be Ohio’s number one goal: to help make Ohio a great place to keep and grow jobs! This is my commitment and I will continue to work to create a positive economic, job creating environment in Ohio.

There is still much more to do and I am glad that I can rely on your support. I want to again thank you for your support and remind you that you can still give to my campaign for free using the Ohio Political Contributions Tax Credit. You can claim up to a $100.00 per couple and $50.00 for an individual and get the full amount back as a tax credit when you file your taxes for 2009. With the new Strickland tax increase, you can either give that $100.00 to the Ohio taxman or you can send that same $100.00 to help me continue my fight for lower taxes, more responsible spending and a positive economic climate here in Ohio. YOU CAN GIVE DIRECTLY TO MY CAMPAIGN ONLINE AT www.KeithFaber.org OR by mail to Friends of Faber, 7706 State Route 703, Celina, OH 45822.
